Ace filmmaker of Marathi cinema, Prasad Oak has released the first trailer for his highly anticipated Marathi film ‘Chandramukhi’. While the previously released teaser and a few songs from the movie grabbed everyone’s attention, the trailer took that experience to a whole new level, and it goes without saying that it’s worth the wait.

The three minute fifteen second clip begins with a married aspiring politician (Addinath Kothare) attempting to bring about positive change in society. He falls in love with ‘Chandra’, (Amruta Khanvilkar) a beauty who drives many crazy with her captivating beauty, hurtful performance and daring dancing.

Thus, the impact on his political career and the storms in his personal life that we see in the trailer. Everyone is curious about the future of this love triangle of Chandra, Daulatrao and Damayanti (played by Mrunmayee Deshpande).

Speaking about his film, filmmaker Prasad Oak said: “This story is very powerful. It wasn’t until I decided to make this film that I was convinced in my head who would play this character. Therefore, each character is tailored to their role. Everything about this film was done with great thought and its greatness will show on screen.”

“There was some thinking behind bringing Damayanti’s character in the movie to the audience after so many days. So now the curiosity of the audience has increased. All the actors have worked hard for this movie. But I want to tell you about Amrita, Mrinmayi Adinath. Amruta gained weight to play the role and she worked hard to maintain the same weight for the movie,” Oak added.

‘Chandramukh’i is adapted from the Marathi novel of the same name by author Vishwas Patil. It also stars Mrunmayee Deshpande, Dr. Mohan Agashe and Rajendra Shisatkar in key roles.

Directed by Prasad Oak, the film is set to hit theaters on April 29.
