Back 4 Blood Tunnels of Terror DLC Trailers Show New Hives, Cleaners, and Ridden Gear

Get ready to fight in a Ridden filled and claustrophobic new location to earn new weapons, maps and cleaners. Plus, a new difficulty option!

Ever since the release of Back 4 Blood, players knew the Tunnels of Terror DLC was on the horizon thanks to the game’s roadmap. And now, players finally have more information on what they can get into. wait to bite your teeth. The trailer for the game’s first expansion shows off Ridden Hives, new cleaners, as well as plenty of gear you’ll want to unlock. Check it out!

The Tunnels of Terror release date was announced in March when Turtle Rock Studios celebrated the game reaching 10 million players. Now we have a first look at the expansion with a trailer, where the focus is on the new Ridden hive location. These hives are a dense, twisting maze filled with grotesque and dangerous mounted monsters. Best of all, the locations seem to lean towards verticality, with different elevations and platforms making the whole thing a hazard to cross (and that’s not taking into account the new Ridden). Players will need to incorporate a little more vertical movement into their strategies when navigating the caverns.

Players can also expect to play with a few new cleaners, including Sharice and Heng. Then there are new unlockable maps and weapons that will no doubt encourage further construction. As the players get stronger, so do the Ascended. The enemy force receives three new units in the form of the Urchin, Shredder and Ripper. These new characters and enemies will also be available for use in Back 4 Blood’s PVP mode.

There’s definitely a lot of interesting content here for gamers, but for those browsing it, there’s another sneaky surprise. The release of Tunnels of Terror coincides with the release of the No Hope difficulty, an all-new ultra-difficult setting reserved for the best cleaners. To further sweeten the deal, the press release notes that the expansion’s content will be available to all players in a group provided only one person has purchased the DLC.

So gather your friends, because the Tunnels of Terror DLC for Back 4 Blood is set to release on April 12th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s the game’s first major expansion, with two more on the horizon for 2022.
