The Quinte East OPP reported last week that transporters and trailers loaded with butter were stolen from a yard late on Christmas night. Although the vehicles were later recovered, $ 200,000 in butter is still outstanding.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police statement, the theft took place around 11 p.m. when “four suspects broke into the facility after being dropped off near the site by a person driving a sport utility vehicle (SUV ) noir”.

Photos released by police show a suspicious vehicle at a Glen Miller Road trucking facility.

“After entering the compound, two transport trucks were stolen and used to steal two trailers each loaded with approximately 20,000 kilograms of butter, with a combined retail value of approximately $ 200,000. “

The OPP said the transports and trailers were found two days later; “One on McCulloch Avenue in Etobicoke and the other on Attwell Drive in Toronto”. But no butter was recovered.
