Crunchyroll releases third trailer with English subtitles and new visuals for JUJUTSU KAISEN 0

A third trailer with English subtitles has been released for the upcoming anime film. JUJUTSU KAISEN 0, along with new key visuals. Crunchyroll will screen the highly anticipated film on March 18, 2022 in select American and Canadian theaters. The film will be available in English subtitled and dubbed and tickets can now be purchased.

JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 recently became the 22nd highest grossing film in Japan. It has so far grossed 12.4 billion yen ($107.4 million) at the Japanese box office, sharing the spot with Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast.

The film’s main production team includes Sunghoo Park (JUJUTSU KAISEN) as a director, Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan: The Final Season) as screenwriter, Tadashi Hiramatyou (JUJUTSU KAISEN) as a main character designer, and Yui Umemoto (Big Blue Fantasy Animation Season 2) as assistant director. MAPPA takes care of the production of the animation.

The film is adapted from Gege Akutamithe manga of the same name. It was first published in Jump GIGA in 2017 for four volumes under a different title. It was later released as a single-volume manga in November 2018. The story is a prequel to Akutamiit’s JUJUTSU KAISEN manga, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018 and inspired an anime adaptation in 2020.

VIZ Media describes the original manga as follows:

Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who suffers from a serious problem: his childhood friend Rika has turned into a curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary curse, her plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where young exorcists learn to fight curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to face the curse that haunts him?
