Witches’ hour may be over, but that hasn’t stopped the mastermind of royalty and Donald glover to deliver a treat for Atlanta fans in the form of the first preview of Season 3.
In a tweet from the multi-hyphenated award-winning creation titled “Happy Halloween,” Glover pointed to a site named Gilga.com, which was displaying a one-minute trailer for the hugely popular FX Networks show.
Looking like something from a Stanley Kubrick movie, Sun RaHaunting “It’s After The End Of The World” serves as the background soundtrack for the trailer, which ends with Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) wearing a shirt saying “FAKE” in front of two servants whose faces remain glued to the wall.
There is nothing that shows the other cast members – Zazie Beetz, Lakeith stanfield, or the aforementioned Donald Glover – but the hype is still real.
The end of production forced by the pandemic has pushed Atlanta from its original release date in 2021. Now scheduled for 2022, the third and fourth seasons of Atlanta concluded after being shot and written together, as one season will be set in Europe and the other in Atlanta.
Glover himself has been a very busy human being. He recently signed an eight-figure global agreement with Amazon Studios in February, and with Atlanta on his way, seems to be happy with the design of how the series unfolds in the New Year. “I feel like this is our ‘graduation’. It’s probably our most accessible but also our most real – an honest version of it – and I feel like the most enjoyable, like the third album. We were all together on iMessage and kinda talking about it, and I think people were really hungry to love beating us, which is great.
