EA Sports joins the inaugural festivities of the Miami Grand Prix weekend with a high-speed preview of the track in EA Sports F1 22.
With the Formula 1 season well underway and about to make its first visit to North America, there is a new EA Sports F1 22 trailer featuring the final track in the series. The Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix is set to take place this week at the time of writing, and Codemasters is giving fans their first look at the new track, gameplay, and possibly other additional features.
The Miami International Autodrome has been stunningly recreated in this game with Florida afternoon sunlight illuminating the slow bends and casting shadows from the grandstand on the front stretch. The backdrop to the track includes Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, and other amenities built around the stadium, such as several sponsored fan and lounging areas around the track and harbor temporary pleasure boat integrated into the runway.
On the surface, the cars appear true to their actual form, but do not represent some of the final design and performance updates, as this is still a preview. The trailer snaps between multiple angles of the 2022 F1 cars and at one point features a special car livery to commemorate the Miami Grand Prix along with other apparel that will feature in the game’s new customizable F1 Life space. Miami Vice paint set comes with racing suit and helmet design, t-shirt and cap. These limited-time pre-order bonuses will go to fans who pre-order the Champions Edition before May 16.
The end of the trailer gave fans a glimpse of one of the new features coming to the F1 game franchise. A McLaren drifting around a corner marks the first look at supercars in the game. This new feature was announced on the EA Sports F1 22 site after the title was revealed. Pirelli Hotlaps are a feature of some Formula 1 weekends where F1 drivers share a lap with a fan. This weekend event is now coming to the F1 Game. Although there is still no additional information about this feature, one could start piecing together what will be the function of this new feature.
It can be expected that there will be one or more supercars from each of the teams directly associated with a car manufacturer such as Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, Alpine/Renault and McLaren, as seen in the strip -announcement. These events could be part of F1 Life Achievements for rewards or for boosting stats, development points or prestige in the My Driver and My Team career modes.
EA Sports F1 22 will be released on July 1 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
