FIDDLER ON THE ROOF’s Making Explored in Documentary Trailer FIDDLER’S JOURNEY TO THE BIG SCREEN — GeekTyrant

Zeitgeist Films has released a wonderful trailer for an interesting documentary titled The Fiddler’s Journey to the Big Screenwhich deals with the making of the Oscar-winning classic from 1972 fiddler on the roof.

The film follows director Norman Jewison in his “quest to recreate the lost world of Jewish life in Tsarist Russia and reimagine the beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof as a cinematic epic on the big screen.” This new documentary draws on behind-the-scenes footage and original interviews with the cast and crew of Fiddler on the Roof.

Jeff Goldblum also narrates the film, which captures the humor and drama of Jewison’s journey “to recreate the lost world of Jewish life in Tsarist Russia and reimagine the beloved stage hit as a big-screen epic. Nominated Documentary Director at the Oscars Daniel Raim puts us in the director’s chair and into the heart and mind of Jewison, drawing on never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage and stills as well as original interviews with Jewison, composer Topol (Tevye) John Williamsdecorator Robert F. Boylemovie critic Kenneth Touranlyricist Sheldon Harnickand the actresses Rosalind Harris, Michele Marshand Neva Petit (like Tevye’s daughters). The documentary film explores how Fiddler’s creative experience deepened Jewison as an artist and rekindled his soul.

Zeitgeist Films will release the film in select US theaters (NY only) on April 29, 2022, and then in Los Angeles on May 6.
