Family trauma begins to manifest when Betsey experiences deep enlightenment and insists that her body is no longer hers, but in the service of a higher power.
The synopsis continues, “Tied to her newfound faith, Betsey refuses to eat but does not lose weight. In an agonizing dilemma, torn between love and fear, Holly is forced to confront the limits of her own beliefs.”
Open up to your inspiration for A banquet, filmmaker Paxton called the film “psychological horror.” “At the end of the day, it’s about what goes on in our heads and what we believe,” she explained.

“A lot of my work is about poor mental health and I’m interested in the subconscious,” she added. “The stuff we can’t see, basically. So to an eyesore, it was just down my street.”
A banquet will open in UK cinemas and be available for download on digital platforms at Friday March 11.
