Connect with your wand

A witch or wizard should never be without their wand, and the PlayStation 5’s DualSense wireless controller becomes an extension of your wand in Hogwarts Legacy. With so many spells at your disposal, adaptive triggers allow for more flexibility in combat. You’ll feel magic resistance at your fingertips through every spell, whether it’s casting a basic cast or invoking the Force for a more powerful spell. Spells will feel unique when you cast them, thanks to haptic feedback providing a direct connection between the DualSense controller and your wand. We’ve specifically isolated these effects to the right side of the controller to allow the DualSense to become an extension of the wand you’re holding in-game. And when you deflect a spell with Protego, you’ll feel the sizzle of magic reflected and absorbed by the Shield Charm.

However, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback aren’t just limited to spell casting and wand work. The DualSense controller lets you experience a variety of events across the globe, whether it’s crushing ingredients with a mortar and pestle in the Potions classroom, feeling the crunch of a mandrake seedling, or to fly through the skies on a broomstick or a hippogriff. The DualSense is your connection to the magic on PlayStation 5.

We’ve also harnessed the DualSense controller light to give you a unique touch of customization. When not flashing with spells cast or damage taken, the DualSense controller lights flash with the colors of your Hogwarts house: blue and bronze for Ravenclaw, scarlet and gold for Gryffindor, green and silver for Slytherin, and yellow and black for Hufflepuff.

Hogwarts sights and sounds

Visually, we’ve come a long way since the days of beloved Hagrid on the original PlayStation. Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation 5 lets you experience Hogwarts and its surroundings in stunning 4K, as well as choose between Fidelity and Performance graphics modes. This choice will allow you to create your preferred experience, whether that means prioritizing a higher frame rate or visual fidelity.

The PlayStation 5 console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech will immerse you in the heart of the wizarding world. Listen to the crackle of fire as you cast Incendio, potions bubbling in cauldrons, and the unique and detailed soundscapes of each environment to make you truly feel present. And if you’re playing without a headset, you’ll be treated to additional immersive sounds through the DualSense controller’s speaker, like the gentle flapping of a hippogriff’s wings and the effects of every spell you cast.

Plus, expect the PlayStation 5’s ultra-high-speed SSD to deliver fast load times no matter how you choose to get from place to place, whether you’re taking the road panning on a broom or traveling fast via the Floo network. We will also support PlayStation 5 activity cards and game assist features. Hogwarts Legacy launches the holidays 2022.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC this holiday.
