Jordan Peele’s Nope unveils a terrifying trailer

Jordan Peele’s latest horror movie, nogets its first full trailer.

The first trailer for no made its early morning debut on Sunday, February 13 – before the Super Bowl. Universal Pictures previously teased the release of noThe debut trailer, offering brief first-look footage of the upcoming horror movie’s main cast, which includes Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yuen. The film will also star Michael Wincott, Barbie Ferreira and Brandon Perea. no marks the third horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele, preceded by critically acclaimed psychological horror films get out in 2017, which also starred Kaluuya, and We in 2019.

Ahead of the official trailer release, details surrounding the plot of no were rare, with a teaser poster for the film shared by Peele featuring just a single rain cloud with an attached kite tail floating above a small valley town. The previous teaser released by Universal Pictures also showed the film’s stars gazing skyward, though nothing else was revealed beyond that. Castings for Kaluuya and Palmer in the film were announced in February 2021, and principal photography on no started months later in July 2021.

Peele made his directorial debut with get out in 2017, following his success as one half of comedy duo Key & Peele, alongside longtime friend and co-star Keegan-Michael Key. Peele will win the Best Original Screenplay Oscar at the 90th Academy Awards for his work on get out, with Kaluuya also being nominated for Best Actor. He followed get out with Westarring Lupita Nyong’o, which also became a box office success.

Peele has previously said he is no longer interested in acting, preferring to write, direct and produce films instead as CEO of his own production company, Monkeypaw Productions. More recently, he served as producer for the upcoming remake of candy mandirected by Nia DaCosta, as well as Wes Craven’s 1991 horror satire remake people under the stairs. “I can watch the films I make [but] watching me play makes it feel like the wrong kind of masturbation,” Peele said. “It’s masturbation you don’t like.”
