The new League of Legends sniper champion, Zeri, the spark of Zaun, was officially revealed on Thursday after a leak surfaced days ago.
Zeri has drawn the attention of League of Legends fans everywhere for the past two days after his leak surfaced on social media. Many fans quickly drew comparisons between Zeri and new agent VALORANT Neon. This is because both have similar electrical powers and hairstyles. Zeri’s English voice actor is also the same Neon voice actor. There is no definitive release date for Zeri yet. However, it is likely that it will hit the public beta environment in the next few days.

In a two-minute cinematic trailer, fans got to see Zeri move around for the first time. The lightning-powered champion starts the trailer by fighting thugs in an alleyway. Soon after, it turns into gameplay footage. In the footage, Zeri immediately fires some sort of projectile that looked like “Zap!” by Jinx. But it’s what happens next that thrills fans. After all, the champion was designed by August “August” Browning, known for designing other unique champions like Jinx, Ekko, and Jhin.
The caption of the social media post posted by the official League of Legends Twitter account read, “Lightning always strikes twice. Or three to seven times. That’s because it looks like Zeri’s auto-attacks aren’t really basic. In the trailer, whenever Zeri automatically attacks, she fires a certain number of bullets instead of a single consistent hit with her weapon. The social media post may be referring to its automatic attacks firing a random number of bullets from three to seven.
Later in the trailer, Zeri walks away from an enemy Urgot, confirming that the new ADC has an evasion tool that is increasingly common among new League of Legends champions. But his momentum may not be his only way to close the gap.
Seconds later, Zeri rushes through the large wall near the path of the robots. The dash radius is huge and is similar to how Zoe’s “Sleepy Trouble Bubble” moves across the field.
Finally, Zeri turns the tables in a big team fight in the middle lane. She yells “Let’s make sure we come out with a boom” before unleashing a wide-radius AoE static shock that appears to bolster her next attacks with increased static electricity for a duration.
