LEVITATION mod gets stunning trailer

An upcoming mod titled Half-Life Alyx: LEVITATION has gotten its great first trailer yesterday, courtesy of Source Filmmaker animator Corey Laddo and level designer and artist Shawn Snelling.

The Half-Life Alyx: LEVITATION mod is currently slated for release on the Steam Workshop in early Q3 2022. It will be free, of course, and contains enough content to last between four and five hours for the average player.

Follow-up to Half-Life: Alyx, new Citadel details revealed in new leak

Play as Alyx Vance in Half-Life Alyx: LEVITATION, a custom campaign in collaboration with FMPONE and follow in the footsteps of Maya and Barry, two rebels who uncovered a sinister scheme buried deep within Sector X of the Combine.

Since Valve released the mod tools almost two years ago, there have been quite a few projects. The folks at bHaptics have released a haptic mod compatible with their Tactsuit product, for example. Of course, there are several non-VR mods that make the game playable even without a VR headset. Someone even managed to recreate the Silent Hills PT (Playable Teaser) demo in Half-Life Alyx.

In other Half-Life Alyx news, there are rumors that the game could be released on PS VR2. Additionally, Valve may be working on a sequel named New Citadel.

Half-Life Alyx is Valve’s VR return to the Half-Life series. It’s the story of an impossible fight against a vicious alien race known as the Combine, set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2.

As Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance of survival. The Combine’s control of the planet since the Black Mesa incident has only grown stronger as they lock down the remaining population in the cities. Among them are some of Earth’s greatest scientists: you and your father, Dr. Eli Vance.

As founders of a nascent resistance, you have continued your clandestine scientific endeavor by performing critical research and building invaluable tools for the few humans brave enough to challenge the Cartel.

Every day you learn more about your enemy, and every day you work to find a weakness.
