When it was announced that Demon slayer would publish his Mugen train arch Ahead of its highly anticipated second season slated for release later this year, fans of the iconic animated series rejoiced like never before as they got to see more of their favorite Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, and his excellent pupil and our protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado.

This arc is expected to be an expansion (or prequel) to the blockbuster movie, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which hit US theaters earlier this year. The arc will explain a lot more than what fans initially saw in theaters and give them a chance to understand the origins of the characters we know and love, and to whom, unfortunately, had to say goodbye.

The countdown is almost over because the Mugen train arch is scheduled to be released this Sunday, October 10 on various anime streaming sites, including Funimation! Discover the official release announcement via Funimation Twitter, here.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Arc Synopsis

As mentioned before, this upcoming version will delve more into the history of Kyojuro Rengoku and the details of the mysterious Mugen Train, and how it will tie into the events of the Arc Entertainment District which is the main focus of the second season.

To cover the story, this release will contain a total of seven new episodes, seventy new scenes from the original manga series, and new original songs that will fit perfectly into the plot of the series.

While we don’t know the full cast list for this release, you can certainly expect the same voice actor, Satoshi Hino, to return once again to voice the character, Kyojuro Rengoku.
