Netcong, NJ – Rt 46 closed following fatal tractor-trailer accident

Netcong, New Jersey (March 16, 2022) – A fatal accident involving a tractor-trailer closed Highway 46 in Morris County on Tuesday, March 15.

Sources say the crash happened around 8.40am when a car collided with a tractor-trailer on the 1400th block of Route 46 in Roxbury Township and got stuck underneath.

Although a medical helicopter was requested, it was canceled as first responders said the victim, a 25 year old female from Netcong, died at the scene.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.

New Jersey Truck Accidents

In New Jersey, smaller vehicles and tractor-trailers share the roads daily. However, being involved in a collision with one of these huge vehicles is very different from a standard car accident. A collision with even the largest passenger vehicle, such as an SUV, can result in serious injury or even death. The immense weight and size of a semi-trailer, coupled with untrained or tired drivers, can easily lead to a devastating accident.

It’s only fair that victims think their insurance company will take care of them when needed, and why not? After all, you resolutely make your monthly payments and make sure you keep your end of the bargain. You mistakenly thought that if you ever needed financial assistance due to an accident, they would step in and do their job.

Unfortunately, this is not always the case. You have to keep in mind that insurance companies are for-profit corporations and giving you lots of money, whether you are entitled to it or not, is not in the best interest of their net income. Their goal is to make a profit and the equation they use to achieve this is simple: earn as much money as possible through bonuses and pay out as little as possible in claims.
