UPDATE (March 18, 2022): Live concert film by Olivia Rodrigo, drive home 2 u (a ACID movie), is set to premiere on Disney+ soon. Ahead of the release, the streaming giant released the official trailer for the film.
Directed by Stacey Lee, drive home 2 u highlights Rodrigo’s road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles while making her very first album, ACID. The documentary will also give fans insight into Rodrigo’s creative process and his personal perspective on his Grammy-nominated project.
“I think it’s really interesting to come back to a place you haven’t been in a long time, as a new person,” says Rodrigo. “I just wanted to tell people what was going on in my head who was proud and not ashamed. There is nothing that connects people, and nothing that is a truer window into human emotion than music,” she continues.

ORIGINAL STORY (February 17, 2022): Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Olivia Rodrigo has announced that her upcoming film, OLIVIA RODRIGO: drive home 2 u, is set to debut on Disney+.
Exploring the history of her chart-topping album, ACID, the documentary features intimate interviews and never-before-seen clips from the making of the record. Fans will also be treated to new live arrangements of his songs performed at unique venues including Mojave Airplane Boneyard, Roy’s Motel & Café, Arcosanti and Red Rock Canyon State Park. Additionally, the film will include special performances and appearances by Jacob Necklace, Blu DeTiger and Towa bird.
“This is a unique cinematic experience where, for the first time, fans will understand how her album came to be and why it was such a personal journey for Olivia,” said Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, in a press release. “It’s not a concert film per se, but really an opportunity to discover how Olivia Rodrigo became one of the biggest music stars of the time – and a chance to see her perform the songs of ACID like never before.”
