Respawn Entertainment is finally bringing its battle royale experience to mobile. here is everything you need to know about Apex Legends Mobile, including potential release date, gameplay and maps.
Apex Legends has been on consoles and PC for three years now, as the game celebrated its third anniversary with the first Season 12 collectible event.
Apex Legends is now in Season 12, and while this season has a lot to offer, players are still looking forward to future seasons, especially with all the excitement generating leaks.
That being said, Respawn Entertainment has decided to bring the battle royale to the mobile gaming community, with some gamers getting the chance to play the game early thanks to the limited regional launch.
Does Apex Legends Mobile have a release date?
Unfortunately, there are currently no official release date for Apex Legends Mobile, but the game has been officially open for pre-registration since March 17, 2022.
Pre-registration was originally only open to players from certain regions, but now players from all regions can play except those from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Russia and Belarus.
How to pre-register for Apex Legends Mobile: IOS and Android
With global pre-registration now open, players can sign up to play Apex Legends Mobile through the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
But keep in mind that pre-registration does not guarantee that you will be able to play Apex Legends Mobile sooner. That doesn’t seem to be stopping anyone, however, as over 9.5 million users have already pre-registered.
More and more rewards will be unlocked, with mobile players receiving an Epic Bloodhound skin if 10 million users pre-register.
System Requirements For Apex Legends Mobile
If you’re interested in taking part, be sure to also check out our article on all the requirements you’ll need to run the game on your phone, including game size.
Game on Apex Legends Mobile
Gameplay in Apex Legends Mobile will be inherently similar to the battle royale gamers know and love, with all the same weapons and mechanics.
From little things like unlimited ammo in the firing range to detailed stats for each weapon, there are some differences the developers have explicitly implemented for the mobile version that were spotted in the beta and may stick around for launch.
To start, players will choose from a smaller group of Legends from the main game. The Closed Beta currently only has Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Wraith, Bangalore, Caustic, Octane, Mirage, and Pathfinder.
Interestingly, Respawn has confirmed that mobile gamers can “discover new mobile legends with new stories to tell.“So it looks like Apex Legends Mobile will be getting new legends before the main game.
In the third person
A third-person perspective is another feature available only in Mobile, aside from an easter egg that players can activate in the PC and console version’s Firing Range.
In the mobile version, players can switch between third and first person, depending on their preference. In third person, players will have a better view of their surroundings and the camera will return to first when aiming.
Apex Legends Moving Maps
In the closed beta, the only Battle Royale map available was edge of the world. Now, with the limited regional launch, players can also play on kings canyon.
There are other maps available to players, such as the Arenas map from the main Artillery game. This map is available in Arenas for Apex Legends Mobile and in Team Deathmatch mode which is similar to PC and console LTM “Control”.
The developers also announced that some new cards will also be “mobile-first”, which matches what dataminers have discovered. But we’ll probably have more information on that when the full game is revealed.
