Gameplay of Wo Long Fallen Dynasty

Producers Fumihiko Yasuda (Nioh) and Masaaki Yamagiwa who previously worked on transmitted by blood for Sony have confirmed that the game will play the same challenging way as nioh but will implement traditional Chinese martial arts in its combat system. This means that the player will need to become familiar with the elegance yet inherently fast nature of Chinese martial arts to play successfully.

The game will run on a morale system which will be affected each time the player dies. In a move similar to that of the Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor, enemies will also benefit if they manage to land a killing blow. How much this will differ from the Nemesis system remains to be seen, Team Ninja has so far remained a mystery on the details.

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty will be set in the popular Three Kingdoms era after the fall of the Han Dynasty, a subject previously explored in hit titles such as Total War: Three Kingdoms. The grim setting of war lends itself well to a soul that already seems darker than Nioh. The issue of the challenge being hard, but fair was voiced by Fumihiko Yasuda who assured the fans that the game will be punishing but not beyond the realms of any other soul in the market.

Contrary to Ring of EldenWo Long will follow the same gameplay structure presented by nioh and be more linear in design rather than open world. This means we can expect larger sets integrated with environmental design.
