At the second annual virtual event for DC Comics enthusiasts, stars from all movies, TV shows and comics came together to spread breaking news and post new content. Pattinson, 35, and Kravitz, 32, were in attendance with the director Matt Reeves to launch the new trailer for The Batman.
âFear is a tool,â Pattinson says with Bruce Wayne’s American accent. âWhen that light rises in the sky, it’s not just a call. It’s a warning.
The trailer highlighted her relationship with Kravitz’s Catwoman, aka Selina Kyle. “I can take care of myself,” she promises the young superhero.
Selina appears in various disguises throughout The batman trailer. She wears her dark hair in a pixie cut, shows off a long bob in one scene, and wears a red wig in another.
âMaybe we’re not that different. Who are you down there? she asks Pattinson’s Batman at one point.
“I am revenge,” he replies.
Before the preview began, Pattinson explained that his version is “drastically different from anything we’ve seen in the Batman movies before.”
He continued, âHe really works that rage. All of his fights seem so personal.
Apparently, this is what draws Bruce to Selina, even as he withdraws from everyone around him. âCatwoman really wants to fight for those who have no one else to fight for them,â Kravitz explained. “This is where she and Batman really connect.”
Although Catwoman appeared on the big screen with performances of Michelle pfeiffer and Halle berry, Reeves and the High fidelity star has promised that this portrayal hasn’t even been shown in the comics.
âThere are a lot of iconic Selina Kyle aspects in the story, but I don’t think so [anything has depicted her] that way, âReeves said.
âI obviously understand the seriousness of a character like this,â Kravitz explained. The California native added that her goal was “to try and create a real human being.” I don’t want it to be an idea. I want her to be a real human being in a real situation in a real city trying to survive.
Ahead of the Warner Bros. fan event where the trailer debuted, director Matt Reeves dropped some visual teases on social media. In addition to new character posters showing Batman and the Riddler (Paul Dano), Reeves also shared a photo of Kravitz as Selina Kyle on Friday, October 15. Big little lies The star was not in her Catwoman costume, but instead wore a white tank top and a lobed hairstyle.
The film still gained a lot of approval online. Even Pfeiffer, who played Catwoman in the 1992s Batman Returns, commented on Kravitz’s Instagram post with a heart-eyed cat emoji.

The batman has become highly anticipated after many delays. The film was originally slated for release in June 2021, but the COVID-19 pandemic has temporarily halted production. After filming resumed, the cast and crew who tested positive for the coronavirus further delayed production. Filming eventually ended in March, but the release date was pushed back once again to March 4, 2022.
