At approximately 2:43 p.m. Monday, July 18, patrol deputies from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Dayton Valley Mobile Home Park, 1000 Highway 50 East in Dayton, in reference to a suicidal subject, according to the LCSO.
Deputies found the adult woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and the adult man, who was transported for medical treatment. The man’s injuries appeared to be self-inflicted while the woman’s injuries “appeared to be the result of foul play”, the statement said, and detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau have opened an investigation into the homicide. .
“Note that this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public,” the statement said.
