First appearing in early 2017, TAXA Outdoors’ Woolly Bear is an ultra-rugged, go-anywhere adventure trailer that can be towed with almost any basic four-cylinder car. While the first-gen Woolly Bear was already an incredibly impressive offering, the Houston-based company still opted to give the trailer some major upgrades for each iteration of the year. And after previously debuting the 2022 model year trailer – as well as a newer, collaborative variant of the Kammok Edition – the mobile basecamp company has now unveiled an even better version with the New Edition. Woolly Bear Overland.
The Overland Edition Woolly Bear retains the vast majority of the great features of the regular model, but it’s also been given a host of components that make it an even tougher and more capable off-road trailer. Along with a fully reinforced chassis, this also includes a Timbren axleless suspension setup with electric brakes, 16-inch steel wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, extended tongue, heavy-duty quad stabilizer jacks, swivel jack Fulton XLT. to 1,500 lbs, a new front storage platform, custom front-mounted MOLLE panel, dual battery case for long off-grid rides, and 2.75″ increased ground clearance – now to 14 .75″.
Weighing just 1,400 lbs., this new model is specifically designed for land exploration and includes an optional 23Zero rooftop tent that can comfortably accommodate three adults. Highlights that have been carried over from the regular Woolly Bear include a full-size kitchen, modular storage systems, and a pull-out cooler drawer. Just as with the existing Overland Editions of TAXA’s Cricket and Mantis models, the Overland-spec Woolly Bear also comes finished in a light coyote paint job. And, because the trailer measures 11′ 4″ in length, it can also be stored in the vast majority of standard one or two car garages.
Available for pre-order now with delivery dates slated for next month, the 2022 TAXA Outdoors Woolly Bear Overland Edition starts at $18,500 and goes up from there depending on options and equipment.
