After the initial announcement of the return of Mario Strikers football series which was first introduced on GameCube in 2005, Nintendo is now releasing a second trailer offering a look at new gameplay, characters, gear and clubs. The new trailer teases in-match items, a team tackle feature that propels teammates forward, hyper-unique moves, and the various characters’ signature specs with categories that include strength, speed, shooting, passing and technique.
The game supports up to eight players on Joy-Cons, and competitive Strikers Clubs online can sign a total of 20 players. Both club uniforms and home stadium designs can be customized.
Nintendo describes the upcoming title below:
“We present to you Strike, a 5 on 5 sport, similar to football, without rules – do whatever it takes to win! Be brave and try to score the most goals by facing enemies, using objects and by firing off special moves to boost the score. Super Mario series stalwarts like Peach, Toad, and Yoshi put their cleats (and stats) on the field and will stop at nothing to score. Customize your characters with gear that can increase their stats and appearance. Wreak havoc online or pass the ball to home players – just watch out for the electric fence.
Mario Strikers: Battle League is slated to launch on June 10 and is now available for pre-order on Nintendo’s website for $60 USD.
