Last night the official trailer for this highly anticipated sequel was released at a panel this year star wars Celebration and the fans who waited to hear more about Cal Kestis’ story were beyond thrilled. The sequel will be called Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, and the story will take place five years after the events of Fallen order. The game will be released on multiple platforms in 2023.

The official trailer was later released on YouTube for fans everywhere to enjoy, get excited, and start speculating what’s to come for Cal Kestis.

You can see the trailer below or click here to watch it.

The trailer shows a Stinger Mantis seemingly crashed on an unknown desert planet, with no sign of Cere Junda, Greez Dritus or Nightsister Merrin, who joined Cal on his journey to Jedi: Fallen Order. Although these characters do not appear in the jedi survivor trailer, from what we can tell, things weren’t going too well for them. Looking out the cockpit window, viewers can see a single set of footprints in the distance, suggesting that Cal or another crew member escaped this crash alone, while the rest of the team remains a mystery.

The trailer also shows Cal battling a hooded figure wielding a red lightsaber, seemingly losing his lightsaber in the process. The lightsaber ends up in the hands of a mysterious figure of power after being carried to a safe place by a group of Stormtroopers. This mysterious new character interrogates Cal in a rather ominous tone with a voiceover throughout the trailer. When viewers take a good look at it, the sharp teeth and skin suggest it’s a pau’an, and it’s natural to assume it would be the Grand Inquisitor stalking Cal.

However, it cannot be the same character, because Jedi: Survivor will take place around the same time as Obi Wan Kenobi series, and the characteristic facial markings of the Grand Inquisitor cannot be found on this mysterious figure, not to mention that the clothes he wears bear no resemblance to an Inquisitor’s uniform.

Another question fans had to ponder was who is the character shown in a bacta tank? Throughout the trailer, slow pans are made around and inside the tank, revealing a suspended and seemingly unconscious figure. This brand new character could be someone Cal could turn to for help in his darkest times, whether he likes it or not. After all, Cal’s antagonist asks, “What’s your next move, Jedi?” right before the trailer turns to this mysterious new figure, and the ominous piece, coupled with Cal’s apparent dismay on his face as he watches the figure, could mean it’s not someone to whom he is happy to turn.

This figure has mysterious inky black veins running through its shoulder, potentially signaling some sort of corruption or injury that required them to be inside this bacta tank. They may be essential to Cal’s survival in Jedi: Survivor and could very well be a survivor of some sort themselves, but maybe it’s someone testing Cal’s commitment to survival – it could potentially be a Sith or someone another that follows the dark side, resulting in the dark look on Cal’s face. Unfortunately, the breathing mask, lighting, and flowing hair obscure the character’s face a bit, so it’s hard to guess his exact identity.
