The Baby, a horror comedy series co-produced by HBO and Sky, will air in April.

The Baby is a dark and hilarious depiction of parenthood from the perspective of a woman who doesn’t want to be one, from debut screenwriter Siân Robins-Grace, Lucy Gaymer and producer of Cherynobyl Sister.

In the US, The Baby will air on HBO on April 24, while in the UK it will air this summer on Sky Atlantic and the NOW streaming service. The baby plot

Michelle De Swarte plays Natasha, a 38-year-old woman who is furious that all of her closest friends are having babies. Her life, however, dramatically implodes when she is suddenly blessed with a child of her own. Controller, manipulative, yet incredibly cute, the baby turns Natasha’s life into a surreal horror spectacle. As she discovers the true extent of the baby’s mortal nature, Natasha makes increasingly desperate attempts to rid herself of it. She doesn’t want a baby. But the baby definitely wants her.

Natasha’s father, Lyle, is played by Patrice Naiambana, while her mother, Barbara, is played by Sinéad Cusack. Mags is played by Shvorne Marks, Rita is played by Isy Suttie, Helen is played by Tanya Reynolds, Nour is played by Seyan Sarvan, Jack is played by Karl Davies and Fooze is played by Divian Ladwa.

The Baby is produced by Sister and Proverbial Pictures and is a co-production between HBO and Sky. The series was co-created by Robins-Grace and Gaymer; executive produced by Jane Featherstone, Carolyn Strauss and Naomi de Pear for Sister; co-executive produced by Katie Carpenter for Robins-Grace and Nicole Kassell; and produced by Gaymer. Nicole Kassell, Stacey Gregg, Faraz Shariat and Ella Jones directed the series, and Robins-Grace, Susan Soon He Stanton, Kara Smith, Anchuli Felicia King and Sophie Goodhart wrote it.
