The Rock thanks fans for the positive reception of the ‘Black Adam’ trailer

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson thanks fans around the world for the positive reception of the first trailer for his upcoming superhero movie, black adam.

According to Johnson, the trailer had “98% positive reviews and reactions” worldwide. It was enough for the former wrestler and movement star to proclaim, “Holy shit!”

“Listen to the fans. I always say, you listen to the fans, they will always guide you and let you know where you need to go,” Johnson said, slightly out of breath and clearly in the middle of a workout, in the Instagram video.

As for the figure Johnson quoted about fans having a “98% positive review” of the trailer, we’re not sure exactly what the source of his stat was. But the obvious guess would be the percentage of likes, versus dislikes, for the movie’s official trailer.

According to the Warner Bros. YouTube channel. Pictures, on which the trailer has already garnered around 12 million views since Wednesday, we can actually calculate the percentage of likes for ourselves.

Even though YouTube has disabled the ability to show dislikes by default, there is an extension your browser can get to re-enable displaying the dislike count in a video. When we did this, we found that the 287,000 likes for the trailer, versus 12,000 dislikes, represented about 96% of people who had rated the video positively, at the time of publication. The video Johnson made to thank fans was likely recorded when the percentage of likes was just a bit higher — or maybe he factored other global versions of the video into his calculation.

All this to say bravo to The Rock! And we hope the movie brings everything fans want when black adam hits theaters on October 21.
