Thieves steal 41ft travel trailer repossessed from bailiff company’s storage compound – West Kelowna News

Thieves make a big bang

The thieves probably used more than just the average pickup truck to steal this trailer.

On the evening of May 2, someone broke into the North Central Bailiffs’ storage yard at 2900 East Boundary Road in West Kelowna. They cut the lock on the door and pulled the trailer out using a new model white truck with orange position lights on the roof.

Company owner Mike Sundstrom told Castanet the rested trailer had been in the compound for five or six days.

He adds that it is the biggest thing that has ever been stolen from the yard. Recently, the only other property taken was a couple of catalytic converters.

The 2019 Grand Design Momentum 376TH (Toy Hauler) is 41.25 feet tall and has a gross vehicle weight of 20,000 pounds. Sundstrom said even a one-ton pickup truck usually isn’t powerful enough to tow such a large unit.

North Central Bailiffs is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the trailer’s return. If you have a tip, you are welcome to call 250-491-1033.
